Table 5.25.2 is a partial listing of control techniques for reducing dust emissions from various sources. Table 5.25.3 presents an approximate categorization of control system capabilities. When more than one control technique can be used in series, the combined efficiency is estimated by a series function.

Partially or completely closing off the source from the atmosphere to prevent wind from entraining the dust can effectively reduce emissions. Frequently, confinement plus suppression is an optimum combination for effective, economical dust control.
