Most reactions are completed within 5 min. Except for cyanide treatment, most other chemical oxidation operations occur simultaneously with other unit operations, such as coagulation and precipitation, which govern the pH value. Although pH value affects the rate of reaction, it is seldom controlled solely for the oxidation process.
