Several changes in heat flow patterns were determined as shown by Table XIV. In general* exhaust heat flow increased with coating thickness and the heat flow to the cooling water and lubricating oil decreased. The results shown in Table XIV are for Notch 8 only and the large increase in heat flow to the cooling water for the 0.030 coating is believed to be in error. It is believed that a more realistic response would be that little or no increase in heat flow took place.
