154 Quality Control of High Performance Concrete

The production of HPC is quite different from that of normal concrete. The fundamental difference is the extreme care needed for HPC in selection of the aggregates and the knowhow needed in the proportioning of the mixture, trial batching, testing, and site delivery. As mentioned previously, HPC has a considerably smaller margin of error than that of normal concrete. A small variation from specified requirements can result in major deficiencies in quality or test results. Thus, quality control for HPC is more critical.
