detectable concentrations of formaldehyde, acetal-dehyde and acrolein were 85, 140 and 190 ppb, respectively, for a 10 L gas sample with a relative standard deviation of less than 8 %. Using this method, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, iso-butyraldehyde, acetone, acrolein, methyl ethyl ketone and methyl isopropyl ketone (or butyraldehyde) were measured in gasoline engine exhaust gas.
