Plastic Toys Smart computer

The big market of toys includes the use of "smart" microprocessor-based technology. Foremost player in this innovative technology is the MIT Media Laboratory's Toys of Tomorrow (TOT) consortium that was organized April 1998. Members include Acer, Bandai America, Deutsche Telekom, Energizer, Intel, Disney, LEGO, Mattel, Motorola, Polar Electro Oy, TOMY, and the International Olympic Committee.

This consortium envisions toys of the future that carry new forms of networking into the home. They report that toys will lead the way to bring a home networking technology infrastructure faster than other means. This action will be different than what the consumers have become accustomed to tolerating home computers that have their share of problems.
