Multiple Vertical

Multiple vertical bed systems are somewhat of a hybrid between solid tower and rotating bed systems. They are well-suited for ambient pressure conditions, yet can achieve low dewpoints because there is minimal leakage. They use a circular carousel with many granular des-iccant vertical beds that rotate between the process and reactivation airstreams. Typical capacity ranges for multiple vertical bed systems are from 500 cfm to 25,000 cfm (14 to 700 m3/m). These systems are more complex and costly than rotating beds and require more maintenance. Figure 39-12 illustrates a multiple vertical bed desiccant system with an equilibrium diagram.
