731 Alloying Effects

The effects of various alloying elements on nickel matrix for wet corrosion and high-temperature corrosion are presented in Tables 7.2 and 7.3. Some of the alloying elements are common to both but impart different property characteristics. Some may be undesirable for wet corrosion alloys but beneficial for high-temperature corrosion alloys and vice versa.

There are many good textbooks and articles available in the open literature and to get a deeper understanding and details of specific alloy systems, the reader is strongly encouraged to consult these. A reference list is provided at the end of this chapter [6-8].
