Pump Drives Standard electric motors, usually totally enclosed and fan-cooled, are used throughout the industry. A stainless steel casing is sometimes used to enclose the motor and simplify external cleanability. Pump units must be either grouted to the floor or mounted at least 2 in (50mm) above the floor to enable cleaning and eliminate any buildup of debris.
