Bid or Quotation

After the inquiry specification has been issued to a group of vendors by the Purchasing Department or company equipment group, the vendors start the bid preparation. There is very little for the user to do but wait. Questions that arise must be funneled through communication channels as set by each organization. It is suggested that a neutral atmosphere reign during this period. Questions should be answered as asked. Don't tell the fellow how to build a watch if he only asks the time. If the question raised reveals a specification defect or a general problem, an addendum, or letter, should be sent to all vendors clearing that specific point. Good business would seem to dictate that a due date be set and adhered to. If an extension is granted to one vendor, all vendors should be granted the extension. This, of course, is again dictated by individual company policy.

Renewable Energy 101

Renewable energy is energy that is generated from sunlight, rain, tides, geothermal heat and wind. These sources are naturally and constantly replenished, which is why they are deemed as renewable. The usage of renewable energy sources is very important when considering the sustainability of the existing energy usage of the world. While there is currently an abundance of non-renewable energy sources, such as nuclear fuels, these energy sources are depleting. In addition to being a non-renewable supply, the non-renewable energy sources release emissions into the air, which has an adverse effect on the environment.
